My name is Jeri L. Brown and my goal of LaVirtuosity is to guide people in the right direction to obtain their goals. LaVirtuosity was initially developed to discuss new information technology and social media but has shifted to include areas that I am passionate about such as personal branding and motivation. I have 18 years of information technology experience ranging from web design and development, system and network administration, system integration, with my last 10 years in information security and information assurance. I have taught others my craft, spoke at corporate venues, developed business ventures, and have lead a number of efforts relating to my expertise. I have an “entrepreneurship mind” meaning I have shifted my thoughts from that of an employee to that of an entrepreneur and believe this innovative mindset will help to push you to your greatest achievements. This mindset coupled with overcoming any obstacles along the way (via many different “life tools”) equates to overall SUCCESS. My goal is to motivate and inspire others to be all they can be while including the relevant importance of social media and personal branding within the web 2.0 frontier.

My Personal Thoughts:
As I get older, I think I am becoming more and more comfortable in my own skin. I honestly no longer fit into a mold of what I am supposed to be but am aligning into who I truly am. My first blog post goes into more about how I “discovered” information technology as my professional field of “choice”. But a shift has occurred because I want to help people with what I know from the experiences I have encountered and undergone. Although I believe education is paramount, experience is fundamental and shapes our beliefs and can either encourage us or dissuade us as we proceed in life.
“My possibilities are so much greater than my circumstances.”—Jeri L. Brown
I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am following the road that has been set out before me. Much like you reading this, I may not have reached my ultimate goal just yet but I know that I am on the right course of my personal journey to self-accomplishment and achievement!
